Today’s Linux landscape creates many opportunities for users to customize their own distributions.  “Custom Distributions Via Package Aliasing: release of The Pentest Repository” by Ryan Holeman will demonstrate a method, using the underlying package management system, to roll your own with a lot more flexibility.

Who do you feel would benefit most from your presentation?
Anyone interested in deb or rpm package creation and management. Those who are interested in creating custom linux distributions. Pentesters looking for a quick and easy way to install all of their favorite tools on their preferred distribution.

What one concept or viewpoint would you like Notacon participants to walk away with?
There are many ways to skin a cat.

When did you become interested in hacker culture and hacker conferences?
I have been hacking away since the early nineties. As far as my interest in conferences, I got involved with them late in the game, but am very enthusiastic about continued involvement with them.

What other passions do you have, besides those covered in your presentation?
Drinking beer, hammering code and skating concrete bowls.

What excites you most about Notacon 9?
Cleveland.
