Today’s Meet the Presenter is with meecie, who will be presenting “Neurohacking: from the bottom up”
Who do you feel would benefit most from your presentation?
Anyone with an interest in neuroscience, but who doesn’t know where to start. Anyone who thought that “brain waves” were cool, but would like a deeper understanding of what they actually represent on a basic (as well as complex) level.
What one concept or viewpoint would you like Notacon participants to walk away with?
Neurons, and nerves are far more complex than they’d imagined, but *really* cool.
When did you become interested in hacker culture and hacker conferences?
I’ve always had an attraction to anything “nerdy,” along with a healthy respect for do-it-yourselfers. I’ve been interested in NAC specifically since I heard about it, maybe 5 years ago or so.
What other passions do you have, besides those covered in your presentation?
Crafting (beadwork, knitting, etc.), and most recently just about all of my gaming drive had been channeled into dog obedience and sports rather than a computer terminal.
What excites you most about Notacon 9?
Presenting gives me an opportunity to be way more involved than I have in previous years, and I’m really looking forward to that.
