- Drive Recovered!
We were able to recover the data from the drive that was deemed dead by our hosting provider. I will slowly be restoring pages to backups as appropriate. If a page doesn't load, come back later or pop an email to tyger-at-notacon-dot-org to let me know about it. I'm not sure how long the repair will take, since I've got a day job taking up most of my time. Remember kids, when in doubt back up those files! - 1-4-2008 (Tyger)
- Notacon Server Failed
We had a drive failure on the notacon server on 1-2-2008. It was at this moment that we learned that backups weren't working correctly, and this oversight has caused a bunch of lost man hours trying to get a new server up as fast as possible. The site has been rebuilt thanks to both google cache and archive.org. We're digging through older backups and we have received the dead drive from the hosting company to attempt to get the data off of it any way we can.
We've taken this opportunity to change how prereg works, registrations are now handled by our store which uses SSL. Also, the news rss feed will likely be moving to our new blog site. I'm going to do my best to either point the old feed at it somehow, or make sure this entry hits the old feed address, even though the details of that rss file are now gone.
Bear with us as we try to make lemonaid from these lemons and improve/enhance the features of our site.

Think of a mix of musical performance, noise, and craziness. It promises to be a fun time.
The second is the Notacon Video Project. The idea is based on the NPR Story Corps project. We will have a video camera set up to record anyone who wants to express themselves.
